Job Description

Property Management One, specializing in full-service management of HOA’s and apartment buildings, seeks a versatile full-charge bookkeeper to head our accounting department. Responsibilities include; overseeing all accounting activities internally, and the accounting functions of several community associations, as well as conducting analysis and supporting our team.

Our ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts, extremely proficient in QB for PC, AR/AP, effective communication and analytical skills.

We offer a friendly and fun atmosphere in the Presidio. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., hourly rate is commensurate with experience, health care benefits, 401k and vacation. Working from the office is a requirement, bookkeepers looking to work remotely need not apply.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain accuracy of key financial statements/reports
• Accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Process payments, invoice and receipt tracking
• Handle client inquiries and related research needed for resolution
• Generate monthly internal company financial reports and client/owner reports
• Communicate with HOA’s and third-party owners as needed
• Prepare client invoicing (statements, income/expense reports)
• Monitor all expenses for the portfolio of properties
• Ensure that company accounting operation adhere to internal accounting procedures
• Ability to make decisions and know when independent decision-making can be applied or when consultation is required
• Support coordination and deliverables for Property Managers
• Make vendor inquiries and resolve vendor issues and payable discrepancies
• Review operating practices and implement improvements where necessary


• 3+ years of experience in GL accountant, and/or bookkeeper experience. Background should include AP, AR, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and preparation of spreadsheets, graphs and charts.
• BA Degree or higher.


· Quickbooks for PC: Advanced; MS Office: Strong; Excel: Advanced.

· Superior attention to detail, accuracy and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical, planning, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

§ Multi-tasker; able to handle multiple ongoing projects and interceptions with ease and professionalism.

· Personality: Organized, dependable, methodical, takes initiative and pride in your work.

· Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

Accounting, Real Estate, Business Administration, or Finance degree is preferred.
· Knowledge of or previous experience bookkeeping for a Property Management Company, Real Estate or similar field is a PLUS!

Experience with various business lines with large amount of intercompany transactions preferred.
