Pattern Energy has offices in San Francisco, Houston, San Diego, Toronto, New York, Santiago, and Tokyo, with corporate headquarters in San Francisco.JOB PURPOSE This position will have accounting responsibility for revenue arrangements for multiple operating wind and solar projects. The incumbent will work closely with the Lead Senior Revenue Accountant, Accounting Managers, Assistant Controller, Technical Accounting, and other Accountants based in San Francisco, as well as individuals from other groups such as Asset Management, Legal, Meteorology, and Power Marketing. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESRecord all revenue sources, including electricity sales contracted via Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), energy hedge valuations and derivative settlements, sales of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and other environmental attributes, merchant energy sales, accounting for imbalance energy settlements, tracking compensation for production shortfalls (if applicable), accounting for liquidated damages, and other revenue arrangementsPrepare revenue journal entries during the monthly close process and perform reconciliations of all related accountsPrepare invoices for offtakers and manage billing true:upsMaintain contract summaries for all revenue contractsReview credit ratings for each offtaker annually or as neededEnsure revenue processes and controls are in compliance with Sarbanes:OxleyPerform analytics on revenue results, consolidated and proportional megawatt hours (MWh) sold, average realized electricity price, and other revenue metricsIn coordination with Technical Accounting, read, interpret and apply current and future US GAAP lease guidance, derivative guidance and/or revenue guidance for each revenue arrangementEvaluate the value for each performance obligation (electricity sales, RECs) to allocate the transaction priceManage auditor requests related to revenue and receivables, ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules and fluctuation analysesAdhere to documented revenue accounting policiesParticipate in the preparation of annual revenue budgets and forecastsAnalyze budget vs. actual revenue variances with the operation team on a monthly basisOther special projects as assignedEDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE A BachelorA?s degree in Accounting or equivalent major required. An active CPA license or Canadian Chartered Accountant designation highly preferred. REQUIRED AND PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE The following criteria will be used as a basis for Pattern to select a qualified applicant:Minimum of 2:3 years of relevant revenue accounting experienceExperience working in the renewable energy industry highly preferred; any energy experience is desirableUnderstanding of various electricity markets, including ERCOT, PJM, and CAISO highly preferredRevenue accounting experience at a US public companyKnowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirementsAbility to interpret and apply technical revenue guidanceAbility to review key terms of revenue arrangements ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess strengths in the following:The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands on technical skills with a keen, thorough attention to detail.Revenue accounting background and familiarity or experience with applying appropriate revenue recognition models for the various off
