The Business Sales Department is a highly dynamic, collaborative, and entrepreneurial group within Williams:Sonoma, Inc., focused on development and execution of all business:to:business sales and marketing activities. The group is responsible for selling and marketing the companys family of brands to professional trade audiences, transacting directly with the Designer, Home Developer and Hospitality sectors, and managing the companys Gift Card category.
Job Function
The Salesforce Developer will develop and maintain our Salesforce applications and ensure the continued delivery of innovative, high quality solutions that enable our department to accomplish its business objectives in Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, and beyond.
This role will work cross:functionally with a variety of Williams:Sonoma, Inc. divisions to maximize the value Salesforce provides. This includes understanding requirements, defining solution functionality, designing solutions, developing and maintaining solutions over time. The Salesforce Developer will be hands:on and have demonstrated development experience in a diverse working environment. This position reports to the departments Senior Operations Manager.
Role and Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively across teams and/or independently to design and build solutions on the Salesforce platform including Apex, Visualforce, and APIs.
* Provide guidance on project requirements, technical design, integration architecture, and solution recommendations.
* Implement new enhancements including creation of custom objects, workflows, validation rules, approval processes, flow triggers and email alerts.
* Own implementation change control from development sandboxes to production and across the development lifecycle. Ensure that all necessary changes are documented, reviewed, tested, and approved before being deployed.
* Serve as a subject matter expert on items related to Salesforce, third party integrations, and AppExchange.
* Remain current on new Salesforce features and functionality and providing recommendations for process improvements.
* Develop or enhance custom solutions and interfaces.
* Identify CRM usage problems and craft technical/communication plans to remedy.
* Interact regularly with business users to understand their core issues and extract key requirements
* Assist Marketing and Sales team members with campaign:, lead: and opportunity:related issues
* Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively and work on projects in parallel.
* Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT:related field; equivalent combination of skill/experience will be considered.
* Experience integrating 3rd party applications to Salesforce.
* Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I required, Developer II preferred .
* 3+ years of experience in Salesforce design, configuration, and custom development.
* Skilled in Salesforce development environment including custom objects, triggers, workflows, Apex, Visual Force, Salesforce APIs, and JavaScript.
* Ability to resolve issues related to the Salesforce platform.
* Strong analytical skills and technical expertise.
* Strong understanding of relational database concepts and design.
* Ability to work both with a team and independently on development projects.
