UberA?s Marketplace team is directly impacting the everyday experiences of everyone who uses Uber. We are working to solve the hardest computer science and analytics problems to optimize UberA?s marketplace. We translate those solutions into a deeply elegant real:time platform, and bring the fundamental science to life in the experiences that enable our riders, eaters, rushers and driver partners to connect through innovative and personalized experiences. Simply put, we are solving problems that have never been solved before in the worlds largest two:sided logistics market. We are not only building the intelligence platform to solve the rote concept of balancing supply and demand across time and space, but also diving deep into that which makes each city, municipality, and country unique and diverse to create tailored experiences for each community. Within Marketplace, Marketplace Pricing focuses on science, engineering, and design that communicates right price that will efficiently connect those in need of services (be it sharing a ride from A to B, ordering food, or having a package delivered) to one of our millions of driver partners nearby. As a member of the Marketplace Pricing team there are several areas of focus and contribution: be it developing real:time forecasting, experimentation, optimization, and algorithmic pricing engines through machine learning and algorithmic development; building platforms that allow for the deep expressivity required to custom tailor our solutions to each market, while providing the ability and reliability to scale millions of users around the globe; or creating products to provide meaningful and engaging in:app experiences communicating both the value of the service provided and the financial opportunity in providing service. We are looking for experienced team leaders and collaborators with natural product intuition and deep sense of customer obsession who can work smart and fast while taking technical excellence to a whole new level. This is a rare opportunity to truly develop complex deep science that goes behind a very simple interface of pushing a button and having a car show:up, in a space where science, engineering, and design must come together in order to achieve success.Qualifications and Required Skills:4+ years experience delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative software products with your fingerprints all over them : youA?re extremely proud of what youA?ve dustry experience using machine learning/numerical optimization/time:series forecasting algorithms to solve real:world problems using massive data sets.Deep understanding of exploratory data analysis, statistics, and feature engineering using transformations and techniques from various domains.Hands:on industry experience in rapid prototyping from problem statement to a PoC machine learning model.Perseverance to get things done with a focus on shipping online production systems. Roadblocks donA?t get in your way : they get you excited for the challenge.Deep love of building elegant, maintainable, well:documented code. Abstracting and refactoring should be a passion, not a chore.Drive to always learn new things and go above and beyond the call of duty.Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem:solving. Always working to improve yourself and constructively support the team around you. Bonus PointsFamiliarity with Tensorflow, Caffe, Theanos, Scikit:Learn, and/or ML Lib.Working experience and knowledge of Time series analysis and multi:class regression techniques.Practical understanding of the trade:offs of various model families including Neural Net, Decision Tree, Bayesian, Instance:based, Association, and Deep Learning algorithms. Background in stream processing (Storm, Spark, Flink etc.), graph processing technologies etc.Rock:star ability to communicate insights from complex A?black:boxA? models to C:level and working level peers, and the ability to defend algorithm c
