Sr. Firmware Engineer (Android)

Navdy
is looking for an experienced firmware engineer to help further engineer the future of the Navdy product. In this cross-functional role you'll design, innovate and iterate to build a never before seen device. This role will work closely with all teams including hardware and software engineering and customer support. Building a product to support the future of driving means that no two days will ever be alike!

Responsibilities:

Write and modify device drivers as we update our hardware
Do the deep kernel/Android hacking
Guide our board designers
Verify your work at an electronic bench with scope and meter
Develop firmware for other smaller accessory devices
Work with Navdy’s manufacturing partners in the development, validation, and maintenance of automated and manual test software for production.

What we are looking for:

5+ years of experience programming in C
Strong experience with architecture of the Linux kernel and bringing up AOSP on bare hardware
5 + years of Android drivers experience and the hardware abstraction layers
Strong experience with device drivers like power management, Bluetooth, USB a must
kernel debugging tools
Experience in modification of Bluetooth stacks
Experience hardware testing and verification components and frameworks which work in the manufacturing process
Experience customizing bootloaders and firmware device drivers
Experience working with vendors and contractors to work out the kinks in the design, test and manufacturing process
Automotive environment knowledge of aftermarket electronics a must
Prior experience developing consumer electronics a plus
Experience in software development process including source control and code reviews
Python, ssh, and bash scripting a plus
BS degree or equivalent experience
