**Job Description**
The **Human Resources Business Leader** for IBM Watson Customer Engagement is responsible for working closely with the GM, her direct reports, line management and executive teams and other functional areas to proactively address business issues related to talent, skills, workforce development and productivity. This role requires knowledge of talent strategy, talent acquisition, redeployment, engagement, compensation including incentive programs and sales plan incentives, supporting a high-end technical software business unit.
Responsibilities include providing advice and counsel on multiple initiatives such as talent strategy deployment, workforce optimization, and engagement initiatives. Executive talent planning or acquisition is a key component of this role along with recommending solutions to complex employee relations and HR issues. Responsible for leading and partnering with other HR functions to deploy and execute HR programs (such as compensation, benefits, workforce diversity) and strategy. This role provides strategic and operational direction to direct reports and others in a similar role and to functional areas. They may also serve as a team leader for cross-functional HR teams at the business unit, site, country, region, or geography level.
**Location:** San Francisco or Foster City, CA
**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
+ At least 8 - 10 years work experience in a full-time HR professional role.
+ First line people manager experience.
+ Experience providing HR advice and counsel to Senior Executives deeply technical senior subject matter experts.
+ Technical and intellectual curiosity a great benefit in role.
**Preferred Tech and Prof Experience**
+ Talent Acquisition experience preferred, particularly for Executive roles.
+ Experience in a SaaS business preferred.
+ An advanced degree in HR or business preferred.
