Field Work Consultant - Child and Family - Berkeley Social Welfare Recruitment Period Open date: January 18th, 2018 Next review date: February 5th, 2018 Apply by this date to ensure full consideration by the committee. Description Berkeley Social Welfare invites applications for two (2) Field Work Consultant positions (75% to 100% academic year) with an expected start date of July 1, 2018. One position is expected to have emphasis in child and family mental health and the other in child welfare. These are year-to-year positions, renewable annually based on the School's need and performance, and have the potential to become a Continuing Appointment after six years. (Search #JPF01621 ) QUALIFICATIONS: Required qualifications at the time of application: An MSW degree from an accredited school or university, or equivalent as recognized by OSWA or ISWDRES A minimum of 5 years of experience in child and family mental health settings and/or in child welfare settings (county and/or non-profit) A minimum of two years of experience supervising, teaching and/or coaching students or developing professionals is required Experience with evidence-informed, emerging, or promising practice models Experience with diverse populations, bilingual capacity, and/or strong cultural proficiency and related teaching/facilitation skills. Preferred qualifications at the time of hire: Demonstrated mental health intervention experience with early childhood and latency age childhood (ages 0-12). A license in clinical social work (LCSW). PRIMARY DUTIES: Primary duties will include identifying, recruiting, training and developing strong field instructors and placements; conducting individualized educational assessments for 30-40 child and family students; facilitating and monitoring the educational placement matches for these students; and monitoring all placements to ensure educational quality. Duties will also include leadership in the first-year field preparation and integration seminar and/or conducting section meetings for second-year students to discuss field placement experiences. Administrative duties will include: reviewing, signing and completing all required paperwork in a timely manner, working with other field faculty, academic faculty and community practice leaders to evaluate and improve curriculum, participating in admission reviews of prospective students, and attending weekly meetings of the field faculty, departmental teaching staff, and other committee meetings as assigned. Additional teaching duties may encompass an additional 25% and include teaching generalist and/or specialty practice methods courses with emphasis on teaching evidence-informed clinical skills related to child and family settings and/or other administrative and curricular duties.
