Wah Mei School, established in 1974, runs two programs: Chinese-English multicultural preschool and a Weekend Chinese language school. We believe that bilingual in a multicultural setting is a vital part of the development of the whole child and that dual language learning is a critical skill for children in the 21st Century. Position Overview

The Floater position is responsible for working with Lead Teachers, Teachers, agency staff and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. Specifically, the Floater serves as classroom staff between classrooms when Teachers are away from the classroom; prepares for meals and naps; supports children during transition time, field trips, pick-up and drop-off time; and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operation of classroom activities and school.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the daily operations of the child care center site, including preparing for meals, set up and clean up
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom
• Set up, clean, and prepare the environment for meals, naps, yard time, field trips, transition time, etc.
• Help ensure smooth daily transition of children and classroom at child care center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
* Associate Degree in ECE or a minimum of 30 hours of ECE Credit
• Tri-lingual and fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin preferred
• High energy & ability to work well with others
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
• A strong understanding of child development
• Must clear full DOJ criminal background check
• Must pass health screening
