Jewish LearningWorks seeks Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead our fund development and join senior leadership team.
As a member of our senior team, this individual will partner with CEO, Board and professional leadership to plan, organize and direct fund development, including major gifts, foundation grants, annual fundraising and overall organizational advancement and branding. The CDO will participate in key strategic and managerial decisions and advance the implementation of our new strategic plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fund Development:

Develop, plan and lead annual individual gifts campaign
Develop and manage major gifts program in partnership with professional and lay leadership
Oversee institutional fund development and partner with professional leadership in grant development/management and foundation relations
Ensure stewardship and relationships with key donors and funding stakeholders and oversee donor relationship management using the Salesforce CRM
Partner with CEO and marketing director in overseeing organizational branding and messaging and in developing materials that “tell our story” to stakeholders
Train and manage professional and lay fundraising activities and participate in cultivation and solicitation of donors
Develop, maintain, and oversee systems ensuring sound and transparent fund development, recognition, and accounting practices
Along with CEO and Chief Learning Officer, serve as senior professional ambassador for Jewish LearningWorks to our organizational stakeholders
Board and Senior Staff Leadership:
Participate as a key member of senior professional leadership team, participating in planning, budgeting, and operational decision-making
Supervise and mentor our development and marketing teams in support of organizational goals
Attend monthly Board meetings, apprise Board of development activities and progress and work with Board President and Development Chair along with CEO and senior staff, in shaping and implementing short and long-term development strategy
Work with leadership and marketing team to ensure organizational branding and messaging are consistent and support development program
Partner with senior educator staff to identify and solicit funds to support educational programs
Develop and strengthen positive organizational fundraising culture with staff and board

Qualifications:
Six + years of experience and demonstrated success in leading non-profit fund development activities
Experience with professional management and Board engagement and development
Strong organizational and managerial leadership skills
Exceptional written and oral communications and interpersonal skills
Experience in foundation relations and grant development
Ability to collaborate effectively with management, programmatic, and administrative colleagues
