Generate Capital is hiring a Head of Legal to be our first in:house counsel and direct the companys legal affairs.

You are a process: and results:oriented person, passionate about the type of work Generate is doing, looking your experience as a transactional lawyer to help scale a young business and drive critical internal process efficiencies.
What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the Head of Legal:
:Provide legal support and transaction leadership, primarily to our investment activities (90 of your time; transaction documents, negotiations, outside counsel coordination, etc.), in addition to our corporate legal affairs (10 of your time; corporate financing and governance, administration, etc.)
:Work with the underwriting and program management teams to drive standardization across our investment structures and documents
:Select and manage external counsel to deliver results at reasonable costs, potentially creating novel, more innovative billing models to align interest and drive efficiencies
:Help train and develop the underwriting and program management teams by expanding their understanding of the legal frameworks, trade:offs and associated documentation.
Candidate requirements and qualifications:
:3:5+ years at a leading law firm, followed by 3:5+ years as in:house counsel for a renewable energy project
financing/investing firm or a renewable energy project developer
:Unimpeachable integrity
:Glowing references
:Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening
:Manic attention to detail
:High level of self:awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges
:Intellectual agility and curiosity, superb analytical skills; problem:solving is your default mode
:Entrepreneurial spirit: flexibility to do whatever it takes, comfort with risk and the unknown, recognition that were never going to be perfect and that perfect can be the enemy of the good
The Head of Legal is a full:time position based in our San Francisco, CA office.
