San Francisco AIDS Foundation has worked to create such a future since 1982 through education, advocacy and direct prevention, substance use health and supportive services. More than 16,000 people every year access free HIV testing and STI screening, harm reduction and syringe access and disposal, community engagement, and health navigation services. Position Overview:

The Sr. HRBP provides management and oversight of the HR process, while maintaining the ability to provide tactical, hands-on service and support to the employees at SFAF. Generally the first point of contact for employees, the Sr. HRBP provides solutions, escalates issues when necessary, and manages all general HR functions.

Responsible for management of recruiting, employee lifecycle, HR benefits/general administration, training and compliance. Responsible for handling employee relations issues including conducting interviews and developing plans with specific goals. Works with all levels of management on performance improvement plans and manages outcomes. Participates on the 403B audit committee. Responsible for updating the employee handbook and ensuring legal compliance as laws change. Manage SFAF Comp/performance management system. Responsible for oversight of employee safety, welfare, wellness and health programs. Work to continuously improve process HR process and integrate into the SFAF culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Employee Relations: Responsible for resolving employee relations issues appropriately and maintaining relationships that contribute to reaching the SFAF mission by increasing productivity, motivation and morale. Prevent and resolve employee related issues around work situations. Partner with pro-bono attorney to mitigate risk on Foundation employee related issues.

* Performance Management: Manage performance management process via our Performance in Action system. This includes monitoring, communicating, training, and partnering with outside vendors as needed.

* Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

* Recruitment/Talent Management: Manage all recruitment functions, including but not limited to maintaining recruiting and hiring practices and procedures, fully utilizing the applicant tracking system, working with hiring managers to source excellent candidates, creatively seeking candidates with special skills and monitoring the success of the recruitment area. Develop and maintain appropriate and updated job descriptions. Manage employee life cycle process including onboarding, off boarding, surveying staff and identifying ways to gauge staff experience.

* Work closely with HR Business Partner to manage the HR employee training program, surveying staff and providing a relevant and comprehensive training program.

* Compensation: Manage SFAF's compensation program. Partner with external vendor to create annual compensation structure. Work with internal leaders to ensure internal and external market equity among staff.

* Benefits: Partner with Director of HR on benefit renewal process, oversee implementation and manage employee benefit issues.

* Project Management: Actively manages all HR projects and initiatives, provides regular updates and adheres to industry standard project management guidelines.

* Budget: Works in conjunction with Director of HR to develop HR capital and expense budgets. Review expense budget monthly and provide updates as necessary. Manage all projects within the defined budgets.

* Closely align with Finance to manage day to day HR administration and employee lifecycle changes

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to influence and coach management level staff. Pragmatic problem-solving skills. Solid commitment to customer and employee service. Ability to convey difficult and challenging information to managers. Sensitivity to diverse populations and work styles, timeliness response to deadlines, and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

Physical Requirements and Work Environments:

Skill in operating office equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine and telephone system. Ability to perform routine bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Education and Experience:

Requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years' experience in Human Resources or 10 years of direct Human Resources experience. Prior experience with AIDS Service Organizations (volunteer or professional) desired. PHR, SHRM-CP or other HR certification highly preferred.

This position will have access to protected health information (PHI) and may only access, use or disclose the minimum information necessary to perform their designated role on behalf of San Francisco AIDS Foundation, regardless of the extent of access provided.

Work Environment:

Market: This position is primarily located at 1035 Market Street; San Francisco, however may require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job.
