JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Sourcing team drives brand level strategies with the goal of addressing business needs while delivering great value product. We collaborate with and represent the brand to our WSGO partners, while influencing, servicing and driving change within the brands to optimize benefits throughout the supply chain.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Serve as primary contact to WSGO and Agents/Supplier in assigned categories
* Collaborate with WSGO to develop and implement a sourcing strategy in the assigned categories for each source region considering such factors as:
* 1. Country competencies
* 2. Supplier capabilities, capacities and growth plans
* 3. Country and vendor risk
* Work with the design team during the development process to identify source markets and suppliers for requested materials, finishes and products in the assigned product categories. Direct the sampling process by identifying markets to cost and sample
* Identify potential product in the assigned categories that present opportunities in new markets
* Share major updates or changes from Brand assortment decision that would affect the markets and allocation strategy
* Assist in the managing and review of Associate Sourcing Managers to include training in the following areas: WSI sourcing operating procedures, production and sourcing policies, technical, negotiation and communication skills.
* Perform a consultant role for merchants and design with regard to the following:
* 1. Identifying opportunities for improving design execution, quality and cost
* 2. Executing enhancements on existing products
* 3. Problem solving
* Manage Calendar and timelines w/ cross:functional teams and WSGO/Agents through PLM dashboards
* Close working partnership with buyers, design and inventory.
* Troubleshoot seasonal product issues related to development, production and/or delivery in assigned categories
Management of US managed vendors/business
* Manage sourcing processes and procedures in the assigned categories to successfully execute and deliver WSI products on time, which meet the design, quality and value mission. This should include the following:
* 1. Comparative Studies : Products, costs and risk
* 2. Cost Negotiations based on parameters from merchandising
* 3. Production placement and commitments : (based on information from planning and merchandising)
* 4. Production exception tracking and reporting
* Monitors vendor performance and provides feedback to suppliers on their performance
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* 4+ years college education (BA/BS).
* Minimum 3:5 years experience in off shore sourcing, buying/merchandising in a retail or manufacturing organization.
* 1:2 years of experience in accessories sourcing a plus, but not required
* Strong knowledge of sourcing markets.
* Demonstrates high level of organization and can quickly reprioritize based on the needs of the business
* Travel required.
