Hi,

My name is Amber Field. I am a professional djembe teacher. I was featured in San Francisco Magazine's Best of the Bay for yoga music. I teach traditional West African rhythms including 4/4 and 6/8 rhythms. I show beginners how to play basic strokes (bass, tone, slap, pop, flams) and teach improvising and soloing for advanced players. For singers, I can teach you sizzling drum rhythms to accompany you as you sing. Lessons are fun and interactive. In the first lesson, I show you how to make your drum talk and sing!

"Your energy as a drum teacher is wonderful! You are obviously passionate about it and clearly want to share your skills. You certainly gave me much more insight into rhythm than anyone else has." Tessa, djembe student

My website http://amberfieldmusic.com/drum/ has more information, including videos and clips of my djembe playing.
I charge $100/hour, $500 for 6 lessons. I look forward to drumming with you! I have locations in SF and Albany.

Take care,
Amber
