Hi,

My name is Amber Field, and I have been teaching Arabic tambourine since 1999. I was featured in San Francisco Magazine's Best of the Bay for yoga music. I am a patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic teacher and guide. My classes are geared towards both absolute beginners to advanced students.

I have been teaching traditional 2/4 and 4/4 rhythms such as baladi, maqsum, malfuf, saidi, ayyub, chiftetelli, bolero, and masmoudi as well as 6/8, 7/8, and 9/8 rhythms for over 15 years. I also teach improvisational and soloing techniques. For singers, I love teaching you rhythms you can play to accompany your singing.

Arabic tambourine (riq) is a fun, easy instrument to learn, and sounds like a mini drumkit. It's one of my favorite instruments!

"She is incredible at what she does. I have had many different teachers in my life, and Amber has been one that stands out. Amber has a lot to offer any musician.” — Nicoletta, Arabic tambourine student

My website http://amberfieldmusic.com/drum/ contains information about lessons, testimonials, and videos.

I charge $100/hour, $500 for 6 classes.

I look forward to guiding you on your Arabic tambourine journey! I have offices in SF and Albany.

Thanks and take care,
Amber
