Position Summary: The Museum Café Chef is responsible for all culinary operations at the café including banquet events, casual dining and formal dining. He or she is directly accountable for implementing and maintaining efficient food operations, as well as ensuring quality standards, budget, COGS and inventory control. This role embodies a working chef who leads, motivates manages and directs the kitchen staff to achieve the objectives set based on our company standards. The Chef understands that quality and consistency in producing menu items, is just as important as producing complex cafe events. Must be a strong and passionate leader in the culinary profession, and has a minimum of five years prior management experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef. Must possess strong management, communication and inspirational skills, and is a team leader and fully understands financial responsibility and performance objectives. This role calls for strong written and oral communication skills, as well as computer skills. Must possess a pleasant personality and the ability to interact daily with members, committees, staff and non-member organizations. Weekend are mandatory and a flexible schedule is desired as the catering schedule can be unpredictable.
