Job Description

GIO gelati Inc. is a new gelato company, run buy an enthusiasts team of gelato chefs with a long Italian tradition.

Our aim is to bring our passion for life to anyone by making art out of authentic gelato recipes.

We are focused in developing a full new brand of hand made gelato from scratch: Italian know-how with Bay Area "farm-to-scoop" raw materials.

Since everyone, in our extended family-like business, believes that being glocal and natural is the healthiest way to get happiness.

GIO gelati is seeking dynamics and gelato lovers, makers & scoopers or both, for our San Francisco store at 1998 Union street, opening soon in mid-Jenuary.



As a gelato maker/scooper, you will:

• Participate in the gelato production made and then served on site

• Offer a product bringing happiness and fun to the community

• Ensure quality on products prepared during the shift

• Gain experience from a team of international gelato artisans and extended family-like run business

• Contribute to create a unique handmade gelato experience

• Work in a fast-paced, never boring environment

• Willing to learn an ancient artisanal job, about the gelato business, a fast growing industry

• Receive competitive compensation with possibility of career growths

• Learn Italian and Italy culinary history (eventually)



Gelato maker will be expected to:

• 6 months experience in a professional kitchen

• Current Food Handlers card

• Interest in training and improving those around them

• Respect for safety and hygiene standards

• Able to consistently lift 20-50 pounds

• Ability to work a schedule that can flex due to seasonal demand

• Appreciates and participates in collaborative communication and problem solving



Gelato scooper will be expected to:

•. Experience in making coffees (preferred)

• Exhibit a commitment to providing the world's most genuine customer service with an eye for details, a willingness to clean (a lot), stamina (to serve people in long lines), and the ability to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment

• Be familiar with what distinguishes gelato and GIO's gelato in particular

• Be resourceful and calm when challenges come up

• Be environmentally aware and community oriented

• Maintain a consistent, contagious positive attitude

• Be available to work weekends, late nights (sometimes at least)
