The savory department at the Manufactory is looking for a Sous chef and AM & PM line cooks to join our team. Applicants should have a passion for high-quality product, attention to detail, ability to work in an ever-changing dynamic work environment, and be a good team player. Members of this team have a great opportunity to learn and practice different techniques and create ever-changing seasonally-influenced dishes directed by our savory team at the Manufactory. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge
Contribute to create a culture and work environment based on respect; providing opportunities for staff to learn, grow, and develop their abilities
Works cleanly, ensuring that every station is cleaned after every project executed
Execute recipe processes and techniques developed by the savory management team to ensure consistency and quality
Work gracefully in a fast-paced, high-volume workplace
Work in a thoughtful manner when executing any and all tasks
Ask for help when it is needed
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
A minimum of 1 year experience in kitchen preparation for line cooks.
A minimum of 1 year experience in kitchen management for sous chef.
A current California Food Handlers Certificate
Must have a high school diploma, formal culinary education is preferred, but not required.
Be able to communicate and understand English & a reasonable amount of Spanish.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Tartine.
Must have the stamina to work at least 40 hours per week.
Possess excellent communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to command the attention and direction of the production & stewarding staff.
