We’re looking for enthusiastic interns who are eager to learn and grow within our Market Development (MD) team’s SHINE Summer Internship Program. As an intern in the SHINE (Specialist Hire Integrate Network and Educate) program, you’ll be assigned to at least two different teams within MD and spend 10 weeks developing new skills, working with diverse groups of professionals, and gaining first-hand exposure to the tools, processes, and services we provide to clients. You’ll get to know other interns who share similar goals, attend company-hosted events, meet staff members in other departments, and network with people in your field of interest.
 
Work you’ll do
As a SHINE summer intern, you’ll participate in local and national trainings, networking events, and community activities to enhance your internship experience. You’ll be assigned to a few teams within MD including: Communications, Marketing, Client Account Management, Pursuits, etc.; once assigned to your teams, you’ll provide support and help implement MD programs and initiatives. During your internship, you’ll also facilitate market targeting activities through orchestrating social media campaigns, supporting business expansion initiatives, developing promotional marketing materials and sales tools, supporting internal and external communications teams, and managing major promotional events such as trade shows, industry speaking events, sponsorships, and internal conferences related to key industry clients. You’ll use your exceptional organizational skills to develop timelines and work with diverse groups of locally and virtually based professionals.
 
The team
Our Market Development team provides exceptional client service and works to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Our team members focus on what’s possible and guide clients to opportunities while taking into account their business culture, organizational structure, resources and capabilities.
 
Qualifications
Required:
• Candidate for a Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field (sophomore or junior standing)
• Strong academic track record (minimum 3.2 GPA)
• Experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Business Development desired
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet research tools
• Superior time and project management skills
