JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary role of the Catalog Asset and Production Coordinator will be to organize and maintain digital assets and databases for brand:wide image usage. The secondary role is supporting the Color manager with color quality assurance. Lastly, the role will focus on catalog production, applying copy and layout edits and preparing files for release.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, detail oriented, and comfortable delivering under high expectations and demanding deadlines. S/he must have the ability to work under pressure without compromising performance as well as being flexible with multiple changes. Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Asset Coordination:
* Liaise with offsite art directors, producers, photographers and digital techs for asset delivery.
* Work with design and merchandising teams to ensure assets/layouts are accurate and available on schedule.
* Ensure assets and metadata are cataloged in an accurate and timely manner.
* Assist in file organization, maintenance and archiving, and other administrative tasks as needed.
* Manage asset requests from internal and external partners, and any other image management tasks as requested.
Color Quality:
* Select best exposure of approved images for processing, utilizing color separators online tools.
* Create and maintain catalog color schedules in partnership with Color Manager.
* Maintain clear communication with color separator and printer to ensure all work is completed accurately and on schedule.
* Locate and collect merchandise samples for color matching, ensuring all product is secured before color review begins.
Production:
* Complete significant edits, updates and revisions to catalog spreads in InDesign.
* Ensure that changes are made as requested, double:checking ones own work and refreshing the layout wall with up:to:date printouts.
* Work with Color Manager to prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* BA in Graphic Communication, Photography or Fine Arts, with related work experience preferred.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Mac OS X and Microsoft Office.
* 2+ years experience in print production or digital asset management.
* Color markup and press check experience a plus.
* Knowledge of industry standard printing practices preferred.
* Ability to adapt to new production software and systems.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
