Interstate Restoration has an opening for a qualified Construction Superintendent to be based in San Francisco or Northern California.The successful Construction Superintendent plans and ensures the operations, coordination, and overall site supervision of the construction project. Quality of work and materials must be upheld and meet the requirements of the project plans/ specifications and the budget followed as planned. The superintendent monitors the sub-contractors progress and confirms implementation of the design plan. Collaboration with Project Engineers is critical.Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.Ensures the budget is followed in terms of purchases and change orders.Organizes and ensures the construction schedule is understood and followed by all sub-contractors and vendors.Performs daily inspections of the sub-contractors, their performance and safety. Conducts weekly meetings to review scheduling and safety.Liaises with government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses, building codes, and safety.Follows the project construction process to ensure the project is completed on time.Supervises the sub-contractors and ensure they are punctual and they deliver on time.Makes sure that quality is reserved in the construction process and the budget is maintained.Writes weekly updates as to the project's progress and prepares a two week schedule "look ahead."Attends all on site meetings, including the monthly construction meeting, reporting on progress when asked.Skills and Specifications:Ability to supervise and communicate clearly, both verbally and written.Ability to schedule, multitask and be a good problem solver.Knowledgeable in all areas of building construction and civil infrastructure. Knowledge of building codes, inspections is critical.Must have a working knowledge of MS Office.Highly organized with the ability to achieve accuracy and efficiency.Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Education and Qualifications:4+ years of successful construction project management experience.2 years of supervisory experience in building construction trade.4-yr college degree preferred.A highly motivated and goal oriented individual.Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality.Ability to read blueprints.Experience/understanding of mechanical and electrical processes preferred.
