The Infrastructure Architect works with the Application Engineering team to develop and implement an enterprise:wide approach at alerting and monitoring of services, from OSI:layer components up to an end:to:end service view. The architect is responsible for ensuring that such an approach is scalable, repeatable, has minimal impact on individual component or aggregate service performance, and provides meaningful and actionable alerting for operations response teams.This role will provide the technical expertise necessary to integrate various infrastructure components outputs into a cohesive view of current service state. The ideal candidate has synthesized the output of multiple tools into a single event manager console for a large enterprise : preferably within financial services. Determine appropriate event management system for providing alerting to operationsWorking with the different infrastructure engineering teams, review existing alerting and monitoring tools to determine most appropriate sources for alerting to operations, and most appropriate approach to triaging of incidents on a per OSI layer basisReview existing toolset, apprising management of any gaps or overlaps requiring rationalizationActive participation in architecture and line of business /Center of Excellence meetings to socialize the architecture and solicit input to improve the operational effectiveness of the monitoring platformResearch on various technologies specific to technologies deployed at the bank, and applicable rules needed to drive product implementation.Participate in round table sessions with technology engineers to determine appropriate alerting and monitoring thresholds, to collaboratively establish baseline configurationsRequires a minimum of five years Infrastructure and Operations experience, including demonstrated knowledge using and/or supporting monitoring in an enterprise environmentRequires experience escalating incidents including working with cross:functional teams to resolution.Requires 2+ years of providing monitoring support utilizing enterprise event monitoring software.Requires 4+ years of Windows, Linux, or Unix Server Administration.Familiar with MSSQL, Oracle database, and Informatica Workflows.Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting is a plus.Familiar with middleware products, VMware infrastructure, and networking layer equipment.Deep understanding of highly:available systems designFamiliarity with, and preferably hands:on experience with, Splunk, NewRelic, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, or similar enterprise level monitoring, alerting and triage support tools.Demonstrated experience working with and providing technical leadership to strong technical resourcesSelf:directed: works independently and is able to fulfill job requirements with minimal supervision.Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, work in a team environment, follow written policies and procedures, and maintain superior customer service at all times.Trains other staff in new technologies, methods or process, when required.Applies deductive reasoning in decision making.Must possess exce
