The Facilities Sr. Engineer (Electrical Specialist) shall assist the Engineering Manager and will have charge of all listed operations and shall perform other duties as may be consistent with the functions of The Facilities Engineer (Electrical Specialist) and which are assigned to him/her by the building management. Primarily oversees, directs and performs maintenance service, inspection or repairs on all electrical systems, but also may be required to assist with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, welding, locks, door hardware and electronic repairs and installations. May operate calibration or test equipment, meters, power tools, pipe cutters, stationary shop tools, spray equipment, forklifts, soldering and welding equipment, refrigeration service equipment and various other hand or power tools. Act as the Bank's technical electrical expert on construction/equipment upgrade projects. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Estimates time and material costs of various projects. Requisitions new supplies and equipment as approved. May be required to respond to an emergency situation within the building. Coordinates the work and appropriate training of Utility Engineers and others. Supports Division and Department development transitions to ensure the Bank`s business objectives are met, remains flexible, encourages and participates in a teamwork environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for operation of the building's electrical systems which may include supervising, directing and participating in the installation, operation, repairs, and maintenance of applicable electrical equipment and assist with systems that require power such as HVAC equipment, building control system, systems involving electric and pneumatic air flow, water flow, gas/electric heating and cooling equipment, valves, apparatus and lines used in the distribution of heated, chilled or processed water, computerized building management system, variable frequency drive units, cameras, monitors, card-access system for turnstiles, doors etc., fire/life safety systems, radio communication equipment and Computerized Maintenance Management System * Conducts, supervises and/or directs troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs of specialty building electrical and mechanical systems including fire suppression, kitchen equipment, custodial equipment, drinking fountains, conveyors, currency residue transport/compaction system, currency transport units, vault mechanical components, side-reach lifts and other related equipment * Will participate in the installation of new or overhaul of existing compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, motors, electric control systems, gas valves, safety controls, traps, transfer pumps, valves, and other related equipment lines and devices used to control temperature and air conditioning systems in their entirety * Directs, oversees and/or performs all preventive maintenance, equipment and space inspections as assigned * Adheres to all safety practices during the performance of all work. Other Duties * Conducts, supervises and/or directs and performs inspection, troubleshooting, installing and removing, corrective and preventive maintenance of the facility components including water, electrical, and ventilation systems, ceilings, lighting, flooring, walls, doors, hardware and other apparatus * May be asked to train Building Engineers and other trade workers with associated maintenance, repair, installations and replacements of facility components * Contacts and performs walkthroughs with vendors, engineers, architects and contractors for cost estimates, makes recommendations for and oversees building repairs, upgrades or maintenance as directed by management * Researches building systems and makes recommendations to Facilities Manager for energy improvements, modernization, equipment replacement or upgrades. Assists 10-year plan specifically regarding electrical systems * Maintains, through progressive education and investigation, a personal awareness and familiarity of current state-of the-art building operations and equipment and makes suggestions for upgrades and improvements to the Facilities Manager as appropriate * Other duties as assigned Qualifications Skills, Ability and Understanding LANGUAGE SKILLS * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations * Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public ELECTRICAL RELATED UNDERSTANDING * NEC * NFPA 70E * NETA MTS * Must have a comprehensive understanding of ArcFlash Analysis and associated requirements * Must be able to understand, discuss and/or challenge findings related to ArcFlash Analysis with consultants * Must have an understanding of electrical system components replacement strategies and understand protocols for building shut downs with complex and sensitive operational requirements * Understanding of the following Systems: ATS, UPS, STS, PDU, VFD, MCC, SGRs, EGs, Various Size/Types CBs REASONING ABILITY * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions * Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables COMPUTER SKILLS * Must be comfortable using a personal computer operating in a Windows-based environment. And be proficient in the following: word processing (Word) spreadsheet (Excel); project scheduling (Microsoft Project) electronic mail * Familiarity with the current CMMS program desirable Education/Training/Certification/Project Management Experience Work Experience, Education, Licensing, Certification, and Project Management experience can be combined and/or substituted in any combination.
