We are a high-end residential General Contractor and we are currently seeking a Junior Estimator. We are passionate about our work, and particularly love the challenge of building complex custom homes wherever our clients take us. The ideal candidate will work directly with the Estimating Department in assisting and meeting departmental needs, while in training. Candidate should have the enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The capacity to multi-task and deal with people at all levels of the company is highly desirable. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Estimators throughout the Preliminary Estimate & Bid Process Organize drawings and prepare bid packages for subcontractor/vendor distribution Assist Estimators on site-walks Assist Estimators in gathering subcontractor/vendor proposals Learn company subcontractor/vendor list Learn Planswift estimating program Learn company unit costs Learn take-off methods for all trades Perform GFA and material take-offs for Estimators Assist Estimators in assembling of estimate presentations Learn to assemble complete estimates with Senior Estimator review Requirements: BA in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or combination of formal education and work experience Background & training in Construction and/or Architecture Experience with Planswift software preferred Ability to read blueprints Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, Project and Access) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills Ability to work well under pressure, display initiative and exercise good judgment Ten-key experience a plus We're an equal opportunity employer offering competitive pay plus a progressive benefit package including medical, dental, paid-time-off, life/disability insurance, and 401k.
