Position: Manager of Field Operations, Dominican Republic
Reports To: Director of Minor League Field Operations
Department: Baseball Operations & Ballpark Operations
Status: Exempt; Full-time
Pay Type: Salaried

Position Summary: The Manager of Field Operations, Dominican Republic will oversee field maintenance at the Felipe Alou Complex. This role must understand industry best practices and will need to operate with a high-level of autonomy. This role will monitor staff performance to ensure that employees are working in an effective manner while ensuring that they have the adequate resources needed to do their work.

Position Responsibilities:
• Implement Agronomic program at the Felipe Alou complex. Including, but not limited to: Mowing, Irrigation, Integrated Pest Management, Cultivation, Fertility Application and Management on Grounds.
• Accountable for the day-to-day Grounds operation, including overseeing landscape maintenance.
• Train and coach staff members, with emphasis on Giants Best Practices program.
• Assess and evaluate staffing needs required to maintain baseball quality standards.
• Assist with budget management and expenditures, and coordinate materials to ensure stability of field operations.
• Assist with product selection, purchasing, and monitoring use and replenishing supplies.
• Work cohesively with the field maintenance staff on all preventative and turf maintenance issues.
• Supervise timing and set up of all baseball activity as directed by Giants on field personnel.
• Ensure safe use of all equipment, including coordinating maintenance and preventative maintenance.
• Communicate expectations and needs of Baseball Operations to Manager of Field Ops/DR Contractor.
• Serve as consultant for DR Contractor on construction and special projects.
• Author playing surface reports, conduct agronomic testing, examine results, and execute changes.
• Write/review specifications for new projects, continuously being forward looking with regards to improvements and efficiency opportunities.
• Any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
• 2 or 4 year degree in Turf Management or related field, or combined experience in Turf Management.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting a professional baseball facility (collegiate or professional).
• People management and supervisory experience is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work well with vendors, contractors and various departments within the Giants organization. Must be able to work autonomously on multiple projects and prioritize deadlines.
• Ability to work nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings.

Position Requirements:
• This position requires lifting of heavy equipment and material (sometimes up to 100 pounds), involves constant walking and occasional running throughout the duration of the shift.
• This role requires the individual to live in the Dominican Republic.
