Project Engineer Responsibilities
Active team participant with Project Manager and Superintendent to build according to plan and specifications
Contribute to estimating efforts: take:offs, coordinate sub bids, materials pricing
Materials management: research, order, tracking
Issue RFPs, distribute plans and contract documents
Create scope of work for subs and vendors for RFPs and Subcontractor Agreements
Conduct subcontractor site walk:throughs to review plans and specs prior to pricing
Assess data from subcontractor proposals: review, negotiate, summarize
Obtain required permits
Prepare and maintain RFI and submittal logs
Maintain positive relationships with our clients, partners, designers, field team, subcontractors
Read and work with plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, submittals, and all other project related documents
Read shop drawings for piecework: receive, code, and distribute as necessary
Receive, review, and code applications for payment with Project Manager
Provide project updates to the client and architect
Manage lien releases
Write and manage Subcontractor Agreements ensuring all necessary elements are present
Update and follow up on punch list with architect and build team
Work with PM to assure payment is received from owner and paid out to subcontractors for work performed
Maintain Owners Manual: product information, warranties, as:built drawings, etc.
Handle Project Closeout requirements and archive materials
Participate in job site quality control with Superintendent
Be a positive advocate for job site safety through attitude and actions

3 years residential construction experience, or the equivalent
Construction Management degree or other similar education plus experience
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
Excellent communication, team:building skills and detail follow through
Ingenuity based on technical knowledge and experience with both traditional and new materials
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Sage 300, Excel, Word
