Job Description:
A Scientific Communications Leader is needed for a 12:month contract position at major biotech company in Northern California.
*Lead or contribute to business processes development to improve delivery of scientific publications in recognition of the evolving publication landscape (transparency, patient role, audio and video)
*Leverage external insights to provide recommendations and solutions to enhance delivery of scientific communications
*Define and contribute to the delivery of metrics describing compliance, productivity and scientific impact of scientific publications
*Liaise with compliance, legal and medical stakeholders to define and implement plans to enhance delivery of scientific communications
*Advise on publication policy and scientific credibility related topics
*Partner with stakeholders across Global Product Development Medical Affairs, Affiliate Medical Affairs, early Research and Development, Diagnostics, and Finance
*Act in line with legal, regulatory and company standards and codes of practice (such as Code of Conduct, Good Publications Practice and any other directives and guidelines)
*Manage vendors by establishing scope, managing budget and providing day to day oversight; Partner with Procurement on vendor evaluations
*Ensure successful pilot projects are scaled for appropriate incorporation in medical plans (Global and US)
*Complete all required training modules as a priority Specific compliance responsibilities beyond standard scope of work
*Ensures compliance with Publications guidelines (e.g., policy, business processes) and other guidelines
*Bachelors degree, preferably in scientific field
*4 or more years professional experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry or related experience, preferably spanning multiple geographic markets
*Medical affairs, clinical development, or medical communications agency experience preferred
*Clinical research, pharmaceutical project management, or product marketing:related experience is a plus
*Knowledge of regulatory and legal environment for medical communications
*Leading peer:reviewed publications, scientific/medical advisory boards, or medical
education/communications, in collaboration with scientific experts is preferred
*Strong knowledge of publication management tools such as Datavision and CLEAR is preferred
*Project management, financial acumen sufficient for effective and efficient budget/vendor management
*Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Google suites of business products
*Strategic agility, including linking his/her responsibilities with overall team
goals/organizational mission
