The Senior Director of Product
Engineering for our Stores Technology team directs software development, delivery
and support efforts across all of Gap Inc. s multi-brand stores. This
collection of applications and infrastructure forms a cohesive, scalable
platform that provides our customers and store associates a seamless experience
across point-of-sale, order management and back-of-house capabilities.
As the leader of the Stores Product
Engineering team, you are the driving force behind the delivery of multiple,
concurrent business initiatives that leverage and extend our robust technical
platform, as well as blends our online and in-store experiences for our
customers. You possess deep technical knowledge, years of software development
experience, proven leadership skills and ability to forge strong working
relationships that cross organizational lines to aid us in our DevOps
+ Accountable for ensuring product deliveryexcellence across the entire Gap Technology application spectrum for our Stores in-store applications, point of sale systems and dependent services /infrastructure
+ Prioritizes andbuilds the engineering roadmap and schedule for Stores - balancing the creationof new functionality, immediate needs of existing customers, and augmentationof architecture/infrastructure in conjunction with key business and product leaders
+ Works with business and ITleadership throughout the strategic planning process. Participates in theprocess to prioritize and scope future projects and initiatives
+ Provides leadership anddirection for technical managers, architects, quality assurance engineers,developers and other technologists up to the Director level
+ Hires and builds highperformance teams who employ state-of-the-art software development anddeployment practices
+ Evaluates business needs,researches and formulates application solutions, and makes solution recommendationsto Gap Tech leadership
+ Ensures service levels areunderstood and met or exceeded
+ Proactively engages otherleaders in cross-functional efforts. Openly shares plans and strives to preventsurprises for other organizations
+ Fosters open communicationwithin and between teams
+ Sets uncompromisingly highstandards of performance for self and team
+ Displays a strong work ethic andsense of urgency. Demonstrates strong initiative to make things happen.
+ Acts as a change agent, initiatingappropriate changes to support business growth, reduce operational costs,and/or improve service levels
+ Experienced atdelivering software at scale
**Skills & Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated ability andexperience in providing cross-organizational managerial leadership forapplication development on the Java/J2EE platform, Mobile applications (iOSand/or Android) and CI/CD frameworks
+ Experience architecting/designing enterprise grade, cloud basedsystems
+ Strong architectural design skills, coupled with systematicvision/thinking
+ Seasoned leader with strongcommunication and influencing skills - ability to be an active participant innuanced technical discussions as well as an ability to represent theplatform/solution/challenge to a non-technical audience
+ Experience managing large development teams and deployments
+ Prior hands-on experience with IT hardware, networks, softwareback-end, database, APIs, and modern web front-end frameworks in order tolead individuals and teams
+ Comfortable and experienced managing within Agile/Scrum environment
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant engineeringfield
+ 10+ years leading software development / delivery teams andorganizations
