Job Description:/h3:
FusionStorm is looking for an energetic Pre:Sales Senior Systems Architect that has a background in Computer Science or Computer Engineering to work as part of the HyperScale Engineering team in the New York.
The Senior Systems Architect is responsible for the initial design specifications and technical design of large and complex customer projects. This involves working cross functionally with departments within the customer, FusionStorm and vendor organizations to establish user and/or customer requirements, systems design and architecture, and estimating costs and resources for engineering projects.
:Lead customer, vendor and FusionStorm teams in identifying design options for systems infrastructure.
:Rapidly learn new technologies, paradigms, and vendor training to recommend new technologies, best practices and tools that support the growth of the business
:Lead Presales or Implementation activities including:
:Analyzing technical needs, requirements, and state of a customers current infrastructure and operations;
:Articulating to customers the recommended solutions;
:Identifying opportunities and developing technical solutions to meet customers needs and requirements;
:Reviewing and validating solutions to ensure compatibility and consistency with FusionStorm best practices.
:Assist the Sales and Engineering groups with requests for quotes / information, bids, proposals and statements of work
:Developing customer presentations, proposals and leading demonstrations designed to meet the customers requirements.
:Ability to take on Technical Project Leadership of multiple projects, interact and support the customer and FS assigned project resources.
:Develop technology tasks required to successfully deploy, implement and support a customer solution.
:Provide status to management on assigned tasks as required.
:Communicate technical information to non:technical personnel, vertically and horizontally within an organization.
:Assist with the definition, development, installation and administration of solution demonstrations in the FusionStorm labs.
:Work with other IT management and support personnel and service providers to solve technical problems.
:Utilize business management tools for tracking time, expenses and project status and documentation.
:Stay current on industry trends and activities encompassing OCP and OSC technologies.
:Understand and abide by all security and operational polices.

Supervisory Duties:
Provide technical leadership of project team when required.
:Act as technical lead for multiple hardware and software solutions to other engineers in providing post:sales engineering, consulting design and implementation services related to hardware and software technologies and providing presales support by assisting the development, review and validation of customer solutions by doing the following:
:Mentoring other Systems Engineers;
:Lead a team of resources on larger projects;
:Review the deliverables of Associate and Systems Engineers, as appropriate;
:Act as a point of escalation;
:Present technology topics at internal education sessions, and industry user group meetings and/or conferences.
Prior experience as an engineering consultant, outside systems engineer, or similar role.
Technology industry certifications
Work experience in onsite data center operations as a network engineer, system engineer, system administrator, hardware technician, or combination of multiple roles.
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Knowledge of modern hyper:scale server design, manufacturing, integration, and support processes.
Must have a thorough understanding of hardware and systems troubleshooting methodology with BIOS/UEFI, command line runlevel Linux, and common out of band management systems.
System engineer scripting level knowledge in one of the following: Perl, Py
