Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities Perform structural welds and fabrication of miscellaneous metals, structural components and piping systems. - Weld structural steel, stainless steel, carbon steel and possibly other alloys - Select welding sires, gases and settings for a variety of processes - Position, lay out, align,, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combinations squares, calipers, flange line up pins,, wrap around, center finders and rulers. -Examine work for defects and measure wok pieces to ensure compliance in accordance with specifications using straightedges or templates - Recognize, set up and operate hand power tools common to welding and fabricating - Clamp, hold, tack weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding - Ensure exceptional attendance and performance standards - Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements. Other Duties and Responsibilities - Perform set-up, material handling duties and minor general maintenance - Responsible for area housekeeping - Participate in the process of continuous improvement - Ability to effectively perform similar position on the floor at any point in time - Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve organizational goals and mission - Perform other duties as required - Travel domestically and internationally Physical Demands of the Position This positions requires the employee to regularly walk, stand, use hands, fingers, grip, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk an hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Must be able to stand/walk 90% of the time and sit 10% of the time. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience -High school diploma or GED is preferred - Welding certification is strongly preferred - three or more years of welding experience is strongly preffered - Ability to pass a bend test - Ability to weld in 6G position - Ability to read blue print drawings is required - Strong math skills are required - Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required - High level of energy and motivation are required - Ability to work flexible hours and some weekends and holidays are required - Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment -Must comply with company core values for a safe and efficient operating environment and maintain positive relationships among and with employees - Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test Company Description Connecting the Veteran Worker to the Civilian Workforce We addresses the disconnect between the transitioning veteran looking for work and the employer who seeks a highly-motivated, trained employee.
