Masterworks Chorale presents:

Verdi Requiem

March 25 8pm, March 26 3pm, Redwood City

Raw power. Grand drama. Sublime beauty.

Masterworks is thrilled to present the Verdi Requiem. From the exquisite delicacy of the opening notes, to the clarion call of the trumpets, pounding bass drum and descending chromatic scales of the legendary Dies Irae, this is one of the most electrifying works of classical music ever written.

Verdi brought a lifetime's experience of composing opera to this work, and it is formed on an epic scale, propelling us on an intense journey through loss, terror, grief and hope. Yet in its intimate moments, it also has the quality of personal testimony, speaking to us of love, friendship, and the endurance of the human spirit.

Our production brings the critically acclaimed Masterworks Chorale together with superb soloists and the massed forces of a 46-piece orchestra, all conducted by the outstanding Dr. Bryan Baker.

Join us for an exhilarating, uplifting musical experience - and prepare to be stirred!
