eProgram: Project Management for Experienced HR Pros (4 Sessions)

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3/28, 3/30, 4/4, 4/6, 4:45-6pm, Online


Qualifies for 4.0 HRCI Recert Credits / SHRM PDC Credits

Designed for mid to senior-level human resources professionals, this online eProgram will be a deep dive into project management skills and tactics, covering risk, expectations, documentation and more. The eProgram will take place in four 1-hour sessionsin the evening, perfect for after your workday. Here is a tentative overview of what each session will cover:

1) Tuesday, 3/28: Project Management -Building a Business Case/Cost benefit Analysis
Learn how to create and present a cost benefit analysis (CBA) for HR Projects. A CBA is a tool used when evaluating the costs vs. benefits in an important business proposal, showing the return on investment (ROI) and more.

2) Thursday, 3/30: Planning the Project: Scope and Responsibilities
We'll cover how to tackle various tactics including documenting specific project goals, deliverables, tasks, costs and deadlines.

3) Tuesday, 4/4: Project Risk and Managing Expectations & Project Cost Management
Project risk is an unforeseen event or activity that can cause impact the project's progress, result or outcome in a positive or negative way. Learn how to create a risk assessment which includes risk identification, probability, impact and response planning.

4) Thursday, 4/6: Project Communication, Documentation & Close Out Responsibilities
Establish a closeout strategy that will maximize the value of the project experience to the organization by capturing best practices, budget metrics and schedule variance. Capture project lessons learned and historical data for future projects to utilize.

Sharawn Connors, SPHR, provides vital leadership expertise for the Human Resources group at Gensler, where she is Head of HR Shared Services and HRBP to the C-Suite team. In addition to her primary role at Gensler, Sharawn runs strategic HR programs and HR projects for startup companies in the Bay Area.
