A unique hair salon & barber shop in the heart of Rockridge. Stacy Hambly, owner of the Right Angle, first opened her business in 1991 as The Bottom Line hair salon located nearby at College Avenue and Derby Street in Berkeley, CA. After three years at that location, she moved the business further south down College and just off the Avenue to its' present location on Forest Street in Oakland's Rockridge district. Stacy has kept the business there for 14 years, conveniently serving Berkeley and Oakland clients as well as being a convenient stop for her growing clientele from surrounding cities located right off the Claremont/College exits of the 24 freeway. The salon is also a city block's walk from the Rockridge BART station. Stacy strives to make her business a "green salon": using natural, eco-friendly products and carrying the products of manufacturers whose focus is not only on quality hair care but also on conserving energy, water, reducing waste, and preventing pollution. The Right Angle salon recycles all the waste it can, and uses all-natural cleaning products. While concerned with the natural environment, Stacy also likes to keep the interior environment of the salon creative, fresh and stimulating yet comfortable. Up-to-date furniture, modern finishes and accents help to set the tone for the growing Art Gallery side of the business. With a captive audience for short periods of time, the salon walls become a fabulous stage for displaying the art works of local artists seeking space to show their work.
